The house was in a peaceful location with lovely grounds. the rooms were large, clean, and well-furnished, with beautiful views of the fields and mountains. the breakfasts were delicious, with a wide variety of choices including fresh squeezed orange juice, homemade breads, and a great Irish breakfast. the hosts were friendly and welcoming, offering tea and baked goods upon arrival. the guest lounge had Sky TV for entertainment.

The ensuite in the room was tiny, which may not be ideal for some guests. the hotel was located in a small hamlet, so for dinner options, guests would need to travel into a nearby town, which was about 11 km away.

During our Easter weekend stay, we appreciated the fresh orange juice and homemade bread provided at breakfast. The location of the hotel was convenient for exploring the nearby village and touring the surrounding area. Another great aspect was the warm hospitality of the hosts, who were friendly and accommodating to our needs.

The springs were noticeable, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. we found it inconvenient that there were no dining options within walking distance, requiring us to always take the car out for meals.

Located in a beautiful area with stunning views of the garden, Birchwood offers a serene atmosphere for a relaxing stay. Guests can enjoy the convenience of being close to a good restaurant in Kilgarvan and have the opportunity to explore the surrounding countryside. the rooms are comfortable and clean, and the hosts are friendly, providing exceptional service. the breakfasts are outstanding, with homemade bread and a cheese platter being some of the highlights.

Limited dining options in Kilgarvan may require guests to drive to nearby towns for dinner.
